Setting Up Your E-Mail

Regardless of which e-mail program you use please set your program to download and remove your e-mail automatically from the server.

1. Setting up Claris Emailer

Top

a. After loading Claris, choose Setup, then choose Internet Setup.

b. Enter the SMTP server of your local access provider, if you already use this program for e-mail, lease the server name provided by your Internet Service Provider (ISP).

c. Put your 'username'.troop755.org in the Email Account box.


2. Setting Up Eudora

Top

a. Select Tools...Personalities.

b. Right click the left-hand side of the screen. Select 'New'.

c. The 'New Account Wizard' will appear. Type in a name for this account and select 'Next>'.

d. Select 'Create a brand new email account' and select 'Next>'.

e. Type in your actual name (not your email address) and select 'Next>'.

f. Type in the email address you wish for people to send email to. Select 'Next>'.

g. Type in the user for this POP box. Select 'Next>'.

h. Select 'POP' for type of incoming mail server. Then type in troop755.org in 'Incoming Mail Server' field. Select 'Next>'.

i. Select 'Finish'.

j. Right-click on the new personality created, and select 'Modify'.

k. In the 'SMTP Server' field, type the name of your local ISP's mail server. Select 'OK'.


3. Setting Up Microsoft Internet Mail

Top

a. After loading the Internet Mail program, choose Mail --> Options

b. Click on Server.

c. Add your personal information.

d. Move to the box titled Servers.

e. The SMTP server should be the server of your local access provider. If it is not, enter it now.

f. For Incoming Mail (POP3) Virtual Domain Customers should enter troop755.org.

g. Put your username in the POP3account box.


4. Setting up Microsoft Outlook

Top

a. After loading Outlook, choose Tools... --> Services ...

b. Click add, and choose Internet E-Mail. Click OK.

c. In the General tab of the email Properties dialog box, fill in your personal information.

d. Click on the Servers tab, and fill in the server information. The Outgoing Mail (SMTP) should be your ISP. The incoming mail server should be troop755.org. Put in your mailbox 'username' in the account name field, and the password below. Click OK.

e. Your new settings will take effect after you Exit and Log off on the File menu, and restart Microsoft Outlook.


5. Setting up Microsoft Outlook Express 5.0

Top

a. When Outlook Express Starts, click Tools -> Accounts.

b. Inside the "Internet Accounts Windows" click Add -> Mail.

c. Fill in your name. Click Next.

d. Click "I already have an e-mail address that I'd like to use" and fill in your email address. Click Next.

e. On the "Email Servers Name" page, fill in the server information. "My incoming mail server is a POP3 server." The incoming mail server should be:


mail.troop755.org

Use your ISP Server name for your Outgoing Mail (SMTP). Click Next.


f. Put your username in the account name field, and the password below. Click Next.

g. Click Finish.


6. Setting up Netscape Communicator for Mail

Top

a. After loading Netscape Composer, choose Edit -> Preferences.

b. Click on Identity.

c. Add your personal information.

d. Click on Mail Server.

e. The SMTP server should be the server of your local access provider. If it is not, enter it now.

f. Virtual Domain Customers should enter troop755.org for "incoming mail server".

g. Put your 'username' in the Mail server user name box.


7. Setting up Netscape Navigator for Mail

Top

a. After loading Netscape Navigator, choose Options --> Mail and News Preferences

b. Click on Identity

c. Add your personal information.

d. Click on Servers.

e. The SMTP server should be the server of your local access provider. If it is not, enter it now.

f. Virtual Domain Customers should enter troop755.org for "Incoming Mail (POP) Server".

g. Put your 'username' in the POP user ID: box.
