Tent Care Responsibilities

<==Back

Our tents cost almost $400 to replace, we must get at least 10 years use out of each tent

Scouts (and adults) who attend tent campouts are responsible for ensuring that the tent they slept in is returned (clean and dry) to the Monday night meeting that follows the weekend campout (whether they attend the troop meeting or not)

We try not to send more than one tent home per family and we try not to send a tent home with the same person every time we camp (this means that every other campout you will take a tent home)

To dry a tent, set up (or hang) the tent in the basement or the garage until it is completely dry

Shake all leaves (grass, sand, etc.) out of the tent and remove all paper type trash from the tent

If a tent is returned to the troop meeting in a wet or dirty condition - the scout (or adult) will be asked to take the tent home and deliver it in person to the Quartermaster's house (or his designate) within two days of the troop meeting
