Fire Bucket can be made from big coffee can and hangs on name stake. It's important to have the name stake done so scout's tent can be found.

Mosquito repellent

Lots of varieties of mosquitoes in Michigan.  Deet works with most.   Other repellents usually less effective.  Clothes can be treated with Permethrin.

Spare Shoes

Tennis shoes / sneakers should not be worn, but can be used as a spare pair of shoes in case your good ones get wet. Sandals are not to be worn around campfires and when we work with saws and axes.  You can wear sandals when we sleep in cabins, but only inside.)

 


 

 

Sweatshirt or Polar Fleece and Light Jacket

A hooded sweatshirt or stocking hat worn to bed will help keep your head warm. Remember, you head is where most body heat is lost.
